On September 19, 2015 the one-day intensive event is aimed at equipping and connecting female founders and female funders.
Designed for Entrepreneurs & Investors, Hera Venture Summit features Keynote speakers, quality panels & interactive discussions. The Summit brings together experts from both sides of the investment table to share best practices, essential tips and lessons learned. Bi-national, local and global resources will be shared and discussed along with trends an hot topics around gender investing.
Driven by successful female founders & supported by an all-female staff, Stella Labs, Hera Hub and Hera Angels, the event is a trifecta of coworking, connections, education, & access to capital that is found only in San Diego.
The 2015 event forecasts 250 attendees, over 4 million twitter reach with targeted hashtags (#HeraVentureSummit #InvestLikeAWomen), and the seeding of Hera Angesls with $10,000.
Hera Venture Summit’s Mission:
To build bridges between female founders and funders, thus increasing the opportunity for female founders to gain access to capital while equipping and increasing the number of female angel investors to invest more in women entrepreneurs.
Women Owned Business & Angel Investing:
Women are launching businesses 2x as fast as men, contributing nearly $3 trillion to the economy. Women-owned small businesses are projected to create about one-third of the 15.3 million new jobs produced by 2018. However, females only receive 20% of startup angel funding (Forbes) and only 14% of angel investors are women. Angel investing pattern recognition research says that investors fund startups who resemble their younger self or look like successful startup CEOs. Therefore, we need more women funders investing in female led startups to raise up more successful businesses as examples. The CaliBaja region is rich in innovation and investors, and building bridges between the female startups and women investors will increase the region’s economic opportunities.
All of the profits of the Hera Venture Summit will be allocated to the seeding of Hera Angels, an angel group aimed at funding more female founders.
About Hera Angels:
Hera Angels is a female angel group who’s sole mission is to increase the number of female angel investors & fund more female entrepreneurs. To empower more women to consider angel investing, enrichment is key through funder’s educational workshops/ bootcamps through strategic partnership with Pipeline Fellowships & quarterly due diligence diners. To equip more female entrepreneurs to know their funding options, access is key through founder’s quarterly roundtables, angel office hours & intensional events (Hera Fast Pitch events – female founders pitch their startups to the investor community & Hera Venture Summit – female funders and female founders connect, share best practices & discuss female investing trends).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
