Love You To the Moon and Back Craft

Supplies:
  • Patterned or solid scrapbooking paper (nothing thick like cardstock)
  • Scissors (or paper slicer)
  • Ruler (if you don’t have a paper slicer)
  • Pencil (if you don’t have a paper slicer)
  • 5″ x 7″ picture frame
  • Glue
  • Printable (link to download)
  • Dark colored cardstock (option 2)
  • Dimensional foam adhesive squares (option 2)
Instructions for Option 1 (Using the Printable):
  1. Cut paper strips measuring 10″ long by 1/2″ wide. Use a pencil and ruler to mark strips if you don’t have a paper slicer.
  2. Fold origami lucky stars – watch this helpful video step-by-step tutorial if you’re new to origami stars
  3. Print out printable and trim along the lines.
  4. Open the picture frame and take everything out.
  5. With the picture frame faced down, insert printable, then glass, then backing material (if any), and then close up the frame.
  6. Flip the picture frame over and begin forming a crescent moon shape with the origami lucky stars. You may need to play around a bit to get it the way you want it to look.
  7. When ready, use glue to adhere the stars onto the printable. Hold down each star for a couple seconds. Let fully dry.
Instructions for Option 2 (Using Dark Background Paper):
  1. Repeat steps 1-4 from Option 1 above.
  2. Cut a 5″x7″ rectangle out of the dark colored cardstock.
  3. With the picture frame faced down, insert cardstock, then glass, then backing material (if any), and then close up the frame.
  4. Flip the picture frame over and begin forming a crescent moon shape with the origami lucky stars. You may need to play around a bit to get it the way you want it to look. Note: be sure to leave enough space for the message below the moon.
  5. When ready, use glue to adhere the stars onto the printable. Hold down each star for a couple seconds. Let fully dry.
  6. Cut out the printable message using scissors or paper slicer.
  7. Place foam adhesive squares on the back of the message cutout. Flip over and adhere to colored cardstock.
